We made it! After what felt like a lifetime, but was really only 20 hours of traveling Cleveland State and Youngstown State University students have made it to China! The travels went smooth, and while the flight was long there were no complaints. Our first stop was the hotel in Shanghai to check in and the rooms turned out quite nice. After freshening up and getting eager to venture into the city and experience the life and culture a group of us learned the subway system, thanks to the teachings of Dr. Tukel and program manager Daisy Ouyang. In the featured photo we have, (from left to right) Pong, Brian, Chris, Matt and Joe, all standing in the Bund Waterfront overlooking the Shanghai skyline (Which was immaculate!) Most of our evening was spent in Nanjing Road where Pong, Matt, Joe and myself got to experience some of the local cuisine. The night was short lived for most, however, since we were all exhausted from the trip here. Here's to a great trip making great memories, with great people.
Till next time.

Today was another day spent learning about the culture of China. First we visited the Shanghai history museum, which taught us about Shanghai from the opening of its port in 1843 to the communist takeover in 1949. After our visit in the museum we took another trip to the Bund, during the daytime. Followed by a visit to "Shanghai's Venice" Zhujiajiao. There is a large market in this town and the architecture is a large difference to the city life and skyscrapers in downtown Shanghai. The Asia Institute then hosted a fantastic dinner for all to enjoy and get to know one another better.

During the past two days we visited the companies Benchmark Electronics, Knowles, Parker and the worlds busiest port, Yangshan. The photos tell it all about how we have the best group possible. Tomorrow we fly out for Shenzen and continue our adventure through this great country.

We spent the last two days in Shenzen, the youngest city in China and an industrial heaven. The group visited ZTE corporation, NCAB and Huawei. Tomorrow we ride out to Hong Kong and will take our last company visit and then spend the last two days enjoying the culture of China and Hong Kong and most likely spending loads of money. It's what we do best.

We've arrived to Hong Kong! (Well yesterday, but nonetheless we are here!) Much more Westernized than mainland China and so far the city has been great to us. We finished up our business visits and have been spending our time checking out the culture of the city. Home tomorrow.
Take Care, China.
